National History Day Results
Congratulations to all the participants who presented their research at the Massachusetts Regional History Day competition on Sunday, March 12th, in Stoneham. Students have been continuously working on their independent projects since September with the assistance of the social studies team Anne Page, Brett Burnett, Johann Knets, and Kristen Borges.
Students who participated include:
Juniors: Ella Tran, Jadon Wang, Adison Caufield, Claire Payne, Katrina Peteranderl, Winter Baird, Zoe Horner, Annabella Connell, Alfie Chien, Christos Meimeteas, Eric Hutchinson, Sofia Brown, Jake Bassinger, Bella Fazio and Julia Tsappis.
Sophomores: Norah McCullough, Charlotte Madden, Claire Gardella, Julia Bial, Phoebe Fallon, Currie Fallon, Mika Kondo, Maddie Carey-Meyette, Jake Flynn, Cameron Massimi, Noah Peabody, Maren Cassidy and Kate Cassidy.
Several of the projects took home medals or received honorable mentions. Those who received medals will be moving on to the Massachusetts History Day state competition on Saturday, April 1, at Winchester High School.
This would not have been possible without the help of the Hamilton-Wenham community for its continued support of the National History Day program! Students who qualify at the Massachusetts History Day state competition will advance to the National Contest, which will take place this June at the University of Maryland, College Park.
