Hamilton-Wenham DECA’s Speaker Series returns this Thursday, October 12, with a presentation from Lisa Kielt, Executive Director of the Travis Roy Foundation.
The Speaker Series is an opportunity for all students, DECA members or not, to hear from and talk to professionals from across a wide range of industries and specialties.
Lisa Kielt is the Executive Director of the Travis Roy Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping those who are learning to live with paralysis following spinal cord injuries. Travis Roy was an ice hockey player who suffered a spinal cord injury in 1995. He was left paralyzed from the neck down. Sadly, he passed away in 2020 at the age of 45. The foundation he left behind continues to improve the lives of survivors of similar injuries and their families.
Ms. Kielt will be joining us during G block this Thursday in the library. Anyone who is interested in attending should visit Ms. Wilson at the Help Desk prior to Thursday to pick up a pass. Passes will not be distributed the day of the talk, and they must be presented in order to enter the program.
