The Hamilton-Wenham High School girls’ volleyball team is working hard this season, with a record of 5-6. Despite some challenges, they remain strong and hopeful.
According to Junior player Alex Jose, the biggest challenges the team is facing is “communicating, working with each other, and trusting each other.
Junior Abby Norris went on to say, “We all talk about what our ups and downs are and what we could work on, we bring it to the next game and try even harder.”
But they never let a big loss get to them. Even after a tough loss, the team finds ways to stay connected and positive.

Norris said, “Our team has a really good bond, so even if we had a bad loss, we still have fun together.” They always have fun, regardless of the game’s outcome.
This October, the team is doing something very special. Instead of their usual breast cancer fundraiser, they are raising money for someone important to the community, Patrick Weston. Patrick is a nine-year-old living here in Hamilton; he was sadly diagnosed with a brain tumor in late August. Assistant coach Kaitlyn is his aunt, which is making the team more determined than ever to raise money for this important cause.
It is about more than just volleyball. Jose said, “To us, it is about bringing the community together to make a difference. Patrick and his family are really well-known in the community and really important to everyone, so we want to honor them and raise awareness for him and his family during this hard time.” CLICK HERE TO DONATE TO THE WESTON FAMILY
