Football season is here at Hamilton Wenham School, and everyone’s excited. The team’s been working hard, and students can’t wait to cheer them on.
Currently, the Generals’ football team has one win and three losses.
Coach Flynn is working hard to keep the team positive and bring the best out in each player.
Flynn is a former Super Bowl-winning NFL player for the Baltimore Ravens. A football coach plays a crucial role in shaping a team’s performance, strategy, and mentality both on and off the field. Coach Flynn embodies that responsibility.
Senior Captain Robbie Bozarjian says, “He gives the team life and helps us get through mental and physical challenges.”
While Coach Flynn is bringing that structure to the team, it’s the players who have an important responsibility to carry the message out to the field.
“We gotta have people that wanna play, and you gotta come out and do your best… If someone goes down, then someone has to step up.” said Bozarjian.
That mindset has been critical this season as the team has also faced challenges. Whether it was winning the game against Brighton/Kennedy Health Careers High School 45-6 or losing to Triton Regional High School 36-18, the team had to rely on resilience to stay competitive.
Every tough loss brings challenges, but it’s about how the team responds that defines them. After setbacks, what truly unites them is their ability to stick together and push through the difficult moments.
“We keep our spirits high because we can’t let one loss define us.” said Bozarjian.

Having support from the community has also kept the team motivated, reminding them that their hard work matters beyond the field. There has also been a lot of talk about the football team with the first Friday night lights.
Bozarjian says, “Despite the loss, it was really positive…seeing everyone there.”
The new field is having a positive impact on the players. Having an audience cheering them on during games provides players with the motivation and drive to play their best.
This is something that not just the players but the students are excited about. Being able to see a football game on a Friday night is a positive aspect of the new facility, and everyone enjoys it.
HW High School Freshman Ellie Wright says, “The football game had an amazing atmosphere, and it was so great to see everyone supporting each other and watching the game.”
As the season continues, the Generals are focused, determined, and ready to take on whatever the season has in store for them. Their next game is scheduled for October 10th against Amesbury High School at 6:30 p.m.
