HWRHS students acknowledge breast cancer

Charlotte Penn, Staff Writer

Have you noticed more pink than usual around the halls? The Hamilton-Wenham DECA team is proud to advocate for breast cancer awareness.  Many DECA advocates have encouraged students and faculty to wear pink today (Wednesday, October 17th) to support this important cause. Students seem excited, as their involvement in wearing pink will raise awareness for this important cause.  All grades are welcome to participate, and pink desserts will be sold after school in the lobby. In addition to the one-day event, DECA lanyard proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation to further research and awareness for breast cancer throughout the month of October. Ms.Wheeler, the leader in the DECA program, has encouraged her students to pay attention to causes like this. By wearing pink clothing, Hamilton-Wenham students will show how a community can work together to create hope. As you walk the halls on Wednesday, look around. Do you see a new meaning in the color pink?
