On January 11th, the Hamilton-Wenham boys’ basketball team triumphed over Milford with an impressive victory at the annual Andrew James Lawson Foundation Invitational. Backed by the energetic support of fans and cheerleaders from Hamilton-Wenham and Penguin Hall, the Generals led the way with an outstanding final score of 60-42.
The Generals maintained their dominance throughout the game, taking the lead in each quarter and going into halftime with a solid advantage.
Head coach Nick DiMarino expressed pride in his team after the game, saying, “We played really well. It was a great experience. I’m sure they’re going to remember it for the rest of their lives. I know I will.”
This victory improved the Generals’ season record to 4-3, propelling them to third place in the Cape Ann League, a climb from their previous fifth-place standing.
The invitational, hosted by the Andrew James Lawson Foundation, was created in 2020 to honor Andrew Lawson, a dedicated athlete who died of cancer at age 27. The foundation raises funds to enhance the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The Generals look to continue their forward momentum in an upcoming game against Triton on Wednesday.
